No matter how long you have lived here, there will always be new things to discover and experiences to try.   Since we love this city and all that it offers, it’s pure pleasure to share some of the gems we have found buried in Hamilton’s calendar of Things To Do in Our Own Backyard:

I.   Did you have any idea that the McMaster Museum of Art sponsors Sketching Thursdays?  From 4:30-7:00 p.m., budding artists are encouraged to attend the Alvin A. Lee building to indulge their talents and/or learn from a local Art student.  The best part is that art supplies are provided, and participation is completely free of charge!   How cool is that?

II.  Lovers of classical music have one more weekend to enjoy a presentation of Brilliant Beethoven at FirstOntario Concert Hall (Formerly Hamilton Place).  Tickets are between $10-67.

III.  Saturdays between January 14-March 25 don’t have to be spent counting down till spring!  Terra’s Winter Market offers delicious food, local wines, and artisanal crafts every weekend.  Treat yourself at least once before the season is over!

IV.  Sports fans, we haven’t forgotten you!  Our very own Hamilton Bulldogs will be out of town this weekend, unfortunately, but they do have a very full calendar!  Check it out if you’d like to snag some tickets to a game within driving distance before the season is over.

V.  We can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t enjoy this one:  The Hamilton I Heart Beer Festival.  Tickets cost between $18-25, and include a raffle ticket with proceeds going to the McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation.  This pay-as-you-go event showcases beers from independent breweries from all across Ontario.  Don’t miss your chance to find the hidden gem you will serve during the 2017 BBQ season!

There really is something for everyone.  We’d love to hear your favourite things to do in and around town!
